The ISO 594 Luer Lock Torque Tester replicates the twist-and-push action of a locking luer taper, commonly used in medical devices. A modification is performed to Mark-10’s model TSTM-DCtorque test stand in which a torque sensor is mounted to the rotating base, while a movable slide with stackable weights provides a constant axial force. The sample is rotated, and the constant compression force simulates the luer lock action. The resulting torque value is recorded.
